A-Fest Greece, which took place May 26-29 in gorgeous Mykonos, Greece just wrapped and attendees are buzzing about their inspiring and transformative experience.
Why was it so special?
A-Fest Greece was our 10th A-Fest event, marking a huge milestone in the evolution of the event, which was birthed in Costa Rica in 2010 by founder Vishen Lakhiani and his team.
Last month, we brought together 400 incredible attendees from over 35 different countries – making it the largest event in A-Fest history.
The location was absolutely spectacular. One of the hottest spots in Europe for jet setters, Mykonos was an idyllic setting for the event with its whitewashed old town, sophisticated style and gorgeous Aegean Sea.
The theme for the event was “Biohacking: Body & Brain,” which attracted some top-level speakers.
We brought to the stage world renowned Biohacker Dave Asprey, America’s Best-Selling Food & Nutrition Specialist JJ Virgin, Patient & Medical Technologist Robin Farmanfarmaian, Author of the Culture Blueprint & Former Culture Strategist at Zappos Robert Richman, Star of The Secret Lisa Nichols, Nine-Time #1 New York Times Best-Selling Author (Eat Fat, Get Thin) Dr Mark Hyman, Professor of Neurobiology at Stanford University Andrew Huberman, leading Motivational Speaker & Celebrity Therapist Marisa Peer, Founder of Ziva Meditation & creator of zivaMIND Emily Fletcher and more.
And then there were our evening events….
The evening events were spectacular and embodied so many elements of the local culture, cuisine and entertainment, while enabling attendees to connect and bond in incredible settings, and dance their socks off!
Highlights included a traditional Greek dinner at a seaside taverna in the old town (complete with Zorba dancing and traditional plate smashing), a Greek Gods & Goddesses theme party, an afternoon boat cruise sailing past the island of Delos, one of the most important historical and archaeological sites in Greece, and a closing White Party in true Mykonian fashion.
The evening events also featured incredible DJ’s and musicians like David Block / The Human Experience, Ryan Lucero and Caroline Sjegers.
The event also featured a very special Give Back Day, our post-event volunteerism initiative which focuses on giving back to the local community.
Although Greece is a hotspot for luxury travel, the country is also facing one of the worst humanitarian crisis of recent times, with the arrival of tens of thousands of refugees and migrants, and very little in the way of infrastructure to support them.
This year’s GIve Back Day, organised by Rebekah Uccellini, focused on working with 7 different organizations that are providing relief efforts and assisting refugees arriving to the islands.
In just ONE day, nearly 100 attendees built 6 puppet theaters & 63 puppets, 60 hand painted signs with words of encouragement, affirmations & directions, two outdoor movie screens and three websites. This amazing group also raised donations of funds and supplies, which have now been donated to 6 different refugee camps, orphanages and schools across Greece and Turkey.
The GBD team will continue to provide support to the local organizations into the future, truly creating a lasting impact.
Now that A-Fest Greece is complete, the next stop for us is A-Fest Mayan Riviera, Mexico taking place Thursday, Nov 3 – Sunday, Nov 6, 2016.
