We’re so excited to officially announce the first speaker in our lineup for Awesomeness Fest Puerto Vallarta, is none other than Dave Asprey, Founder and CEO of The Bulletproof Executive, Entrepreneur, Investor, Biohacker, Author, and Cloud Expert.

Yes! *fist pump*

We couldn’t be happier that Dave will be joining us at Awesomeness Fest in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, this November 6-9.

This guy is as smart as they come. Seriously smart.

He is holder of a dozen superhero titles, the founder of The Bulletproof Executive, VP of cloud security at Trend Micro, and is a Silicon Valley investor and technology entrepreneur who spent 15 years and over $300,000 to hack his own biology.

Dave lost 100 pounds without counting calories or excessive exercise, used techniques to upgrade his brain by more than 20 IQ points, and lowered his biological age while learning to sleep more efficiently in less time. Learning to do these seemingly impossible things transformed him into a better entrepreneur, a better husband, and a better father.

Yeah, he is a biohacker. One of those guys like Tim Ferriss and Josh Whiton.

From private brain EEG facilities hidden in a Canadian forest, to remote monasteries in Tibet, from Silicon Valley to the Andes, Dave used hacking techniques and tried everything on himself, obsessively focused on discovering the answers to this one persistent question: What are the simplest things you can do to be better at everything?

So, how did Asprey find his way to buttered coffee, and a life of biohacking?

“Enlightened self interest,” Asprey says. “I weighed 300 pounds and had cognitive dysfunction in my mid twenties, despite being a very successful entrepreneur and exercising six days a week.”

It helped enormously that I was wealthy enough to do what I wanted at a young age, and my health was poor enough to motivate me,” Asprey explained. “I was doubly motivated by a 3D SPECT scan of my brain showing poor blood flow and likely cognitive dysfunction, and other tests showing I was at extreme risk for stroke and heart disease.”

“I decided to use the same techniques we use to manage very large, very complex systems like the Internet in order to upgrade myself.” (Biohacking in a nutshell.)

What emerged is the idea of being “Bulletproof”, the state of high performance where you take control of and improve your biochemistry, your body, and your mind so they work in unison, helping you execute at levels far beyond what you’d expect, without burning out, getting sick, or allowing stress to control your decisions.

It used to take a lifetime to radically rewire the human body and mind this way, if you were lucky enough to even know it was possible. Technology has changed the rules.

So, does Dave feel quilty about being so advantage from hacking?

I don’t feel guilty about any kind of hacking, including biohacking. Hacking is about figuring out how things work so you can control them. It’s about discovering unwritten rules so you can break them, even if you don’t. It is the cutting edge of science, where innovation happens long before double blind studies will ever get funded.”

See what I mean? Genius.

See Dave speak at Awesomeness Fest in Mexico, November 6-9, for what is shaping up to be a truly EPIC event. *Hint* Think a huge lineup of SERIOUSLY incredible speakers, like Dave…..
