Vishen Lakhiani, Founder of Mindvalley and AIESEC alumni, just announced something really special.
Mindvalley will be offering FIVE AIESECers in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia a full sponsorship to Awesomeness Fest Croatia.
Ed-Tech company Mindvalley is a Malaysia based company founded by AIESEC USA Alumni Vishen Lakhiani. The company is one of the biggest AIESEC trainee takers in the world and currently has some 50 AIESECers and trainees in its team of 140 in Kuala Lumpur. Awesomeness Fest is Mindvalley’s popular festival for spreading new approaches on learning and personal growth to high calibre individuals. Every year some 5000 people apply for some 500 spots at two Awesomeness Fest events held in 5 star locations around the globe.
Attendees have included Oscar winners, best-selling authors, Tony Award winners, celebrities, artists, entrepreneurs and heads of NGOs, and game-changing companies globally.
What do the chosen AIESEC members receive?
The chosen AIESEC participants will have the opportunity to attend sessions with leading personal growth and business experts, and showcase their local culture and information to over 250 attendees. They’ll also have the opportunity to interact with amazing attendees and attend incredible group events including dinners and excursions.
Mindvalley will cover the hotel accommodations (including a per diem for food and beverage) in a 5-star resort, as well as the ticket to the event (a $2,100USD value).
Now, you might be wondering why we’re doing this…
In the video above Vishen shares his very special reason for creating this opportunity. Clue: it has to do with how in 1997 he was a trainee in Bulgaria. And later decided to backpack across Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and during that time was astounded by how AIESEC members from those countries treated him. Watch the video for the full story.
How to Apply:
To apply, AIESEC students must send a 2-3 minute video explaining why they want to volunteer for Afest and how they can contribute to the event, including any relevant experience or skills. Please do not exceed 3 mins. As a tip, try answering these two questions in a way that shows your confidence, skills and communication abilities.
1. Why you think you’re Awesome
2. How you can contribute to the Event.
To submit a video application, the video should be uploaded to YouTube and the link provided to the chapter president who will be in charge of forwarding to Mindvalley. All video submissions must be submitted by Friday, April 30th.
All submissions will be reviewed the week of May 4th and the selected volunteers will be contacted the week of May 8th.
In order to ensure that AIESEC members are a good fit for the event, we’ll be looking for the following criteria:
- Active AIESEC member from one of the countries above
- Strong interest in personal growth and development as well as entrepreneurship
- Good communication skills, positive and energetic attitude
- Knowledgable about local culture and eager to share information
- Must be available from May 16-19 and able to provide their own transportation to the hotel (Radisson Blu Resort and Spa just outside of Dubrovnik).
Opportunities for AIESEC traineeships at Mindvalley are also available (whether you apply to Awesomeness Fest or not). Mindvalley currently has 10 open traineeships for AIESECers.
